GOD’S PATH AND PURPOSE
By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/28/09
Genesis 45:7-8 “And God sent me before you to preserve you
a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God:” (KJV)
God has given you a purpose to fulfill a work for Him.
And the path to that fulfillment just may be a path that’s grim.
Joseph could have been quite vengeful when again he saw his clan.
But he saw his path and purpose as a part of God’s great plan.
Note the words that Joseph said when the truth had come to light.
“It’s not you that sent me hither, but our God to change your plight.”
He took his purpose as from God. No revenge on them he sought.
He now could see how God had planned and trials of his past forgot.
Do we only see the present with it’s trials that seem unfair?
Do we have the faith to trust that God has plans we’re unaware?
In the end God works His pleasure, bringing honor to His name.
Our job is therefore to trust Him; give Him glory and acclaim.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (KJV)
