When I was in elementary school, we'd always have to stretch before doing our exercises in gym class. I would always lift and grab my ankle and stretch it until the underside of my foot could touch my back. My classmates were dumbfounded every time I did this. It didn't seem like a big deal to me.

"What the ______!?"  Like THAT?  Lotsa stuff!!

But since you mentioned contortions, maybe it's hereditary.  I always get annoyed when people say they can't scratch the middle of their own backs.

I can reach up behind my back with one hand, and over my shoulder with the other hand and shake my own hands behind my back...but most of the time something goes crunch in one of my shoulders!! Wonder why?!

Also when I was younger could reach around...let me see if i can explain this while im sitting here trying to do it, reach up over my head with my right arm and then under my chin and up to touch my right ear, so my arm would be full circle around my head and under my chin...haven't done that for decades now its not fully reaching.  Don't wanna try too hard and hear a bigger crunch and end up at the doctors!!  Could never do that with the other arm.

Maybe we should join the circus!!

I really didn't know what to say here, but your mom kinda helped out.  I agree with her and some people can not one thing for there self.

Kathleen, I too can reach up my back and around, but I never tried that with the arm around my neck and touching my other ear.  Neat, but isn't it sad, like the old saying, "If you don't use it you lose it"  how true. 

So Jayson, enjoy it while you have it and don't let it go.
