Jayson,
I'm proud to do a first.
It is true that one mans art is anothers rubbish, BUT, there are those who's business is knowing what makes money from art or knowing where to direct a skill. Don't dismiss your skills if others see it as that, however, it is your life and you have to do what is best. Just check the reasons for your decisions.
If you throw away something that would give you a good living AND that you would enjoy then you need to ask why?
Would you do me a huge favour? Would you just tell me "Why do you do your drawings and what do you feel when you complete one?
Keep asking your awkward questions. It does me the favour of stretching my mind for an answer, and, guess what?
In asking these questions and telling me of your problems and fears YOU ARE HELPING OTHERS. How?
I have a therapy business that hopefully helps people resolve problems. Despite my training, 90% of my results are a result of something I learned from somebody else with a problem.
Keep being you, just like yourself more.
Roger
