Re: Keep Your Gun

Kim,

You said,

I don't know for sure what's coming....but I do know its coming!  All things point to it...and it's happening faster and with greater strength than probably most of us realize.

You're very right, something is coming, but it's not what most people are thinking.  It's coming very soon, and no amount of guns will be able to protect you from it!

"THE great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying of it very much." (Zephaniah 1:14)

"The day of Jehovah against all the nations is near." (Obadiah 15).

God’s acts will bring disastrous effects on the earth and its inhabitants. Not on all humans, though. The same prophets pointed to abundant blessings for those who "search for what is good" and thus keep living. (Amos 5:14; Joel 3:17, 18; Micah 4:3, 4).

But before that fear-inspiring day comes, first will come the Great Tribulation.  Jesus Christ’s words: "There will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again." He said that "immediately after" the beginning of that great tribulation, "the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." (Matthew 24:21, 29) This helps us to pinpoint the timing of the day of Jehovah. It is just ahead. The Scriptures indicate that the great tribulation will destroy "Babylon the Great," the world empire of false religion. Then, as the climax of the great tribulation, Jehovah’s day will wipe God’s enemies off the face of the earth. (Revelation 17:5, 12-18; 19:11-21).

You also said:

"thank God for orgs. like the American Rifle Assoc., but even so, I do dread the reality that this issue is surely on the government's agenda and the agenda of the One World Order, and "order" is a key word that is Not in favor of freedom!"

Well, it's not the God that we all should serve that you can thank for organizations like that, but the god of this system of things, Satan the Devil.  You see, the Bible plainly states that Satan rules this world, and thus controls all the governments in it.  "One World Order" will never take place until Satan is destroyed, and that will only take place by Jehovah God's coming theocratic government.

Daniel 2:44, "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people.  It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite."

"Those kings" are the current world leaders, and their "kingdoms" or governments, will be crushed and ended by God's new government headed by His son Jesus Christ for a thousand years.

Currently, the whole world is looking to Obama as its savior.  How detestable this is to God!  Man cannot solve man's problems.

Jeremiah 10:23, "I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step."

No amount of "freedom" can bring about the change that is needed to save this world.  And certainly "the right to bear arms" cannot do this.  This world is condemned to destruction.  Not the literal world itself, but the majority of the people on it, just as in the days of Noah.  The literal world itself, the earth, will stand to time indefinite!

Ecc. 1:4, "A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite."

Again, there will be no guns in Jehovah God's new system.  All will live in peace and harmony with a hope of everlasting life.  But to be a part of that, you must "Obey God as ruler, rather than men." (Acts 5:29)  God said do not kill.  This means no killing with guns or by any other means, even if one's government, controlled by Satan, tells them to.  Disregard for this law is why during the World Wars there were brothers of the same faith killing one another, i.e., American Catholics killing German Catholics, German Protestants killing American Protestants, etc., etc.  All in disobedience to God!  And probably more detestable than that, the false religious leaders, the priests and pastors and preachers on opposite sides of these nations, were asking for God's blessing of the killing machines, the cannons and bombs being operated by the very men who were disobeying God!

Lastly for now, Kim, let me tell you a short story about a faithful Christian brother and his family who endured for years in a war-torn country where at times over a thousand bombs an hour were being dropped!  At the beginning of this war in Lebanon, the elders in his congregation warned them not to hoard up food or acquire weapons for self defense, but to rely on Jehovah to help them through this horrible time.  Well, they did just that!  But their neighbors, who were not Jehovah's Witnesses and who stored up guns and food, lost their lives due to this very fact!  And not from soldiers, but from civilians.  You see, when the civil chaos and panic and rioting and hunger got bad enough, their houses were broken into and they were murdered for their food and guns!

Yes, we "must obey God as ruler, rather than men."  Place your lives and hope not in guns or governments, but in Jehovah God!  This very scenario of the civil chaos and rioting will take place right here in the United States as well as all over the world during the Great Tribulation soon to come.  People will be killing even for food.  No amount of money will save them either!  As Jesus Christ said, "Then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." (Matt. 24:21, 22)

My hope and prayers for you all is this:

"Stop storing up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal. Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal"!  (Matt. 6:19, 20)

Its unfortunate that Canada dont have gun control why is that? sometimes you have to look to whats inside the laws that make them that way.

The people's right to have their own arms for their defense is described in the philosophical and political writings of Aristotle, Cicero, John Locke, Machiavelli, the English Whigs and others. Though possessing arms appears to be distinct from "bearing" them, the possession of arms is recognized as necessary for and a logical precursor to the bearing of arms. Particularly in the event of oppression or slaughter of people by governments or racial majorities, researchers have noted that exercise of the right to bear arms internationally is intrinsically linked to a people's ability to possess them, and that the possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave.

Don Kates, a civil liberties lawyer, cites historic English usage describing the "right to keep and bear their private arms."

Likewise, Sayoko Blodgett-Ford notes non-military usage of the phrase in the Pennsylvania ratifying convention:

"[T]he people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and their own state, or the United States, or the purpose of killing game; and no law shall be passed for disarming the people or any of them, unless for crimes committed..."

In commentary written by Justice Cummings in United States v. Emerson, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit concluded in 2001 that:

there are numerous instances of the phrase 'bear arms' being used to describe a civilian's carrying of arms. Early constitutional provisions or declarations of rights in at least some ten different states speak of the right of the 'people' [or 'citizen' or 'citizens'] "to bear arms in defense of themselves [or 'himself'] and the state,' or equivalent words, thus indisputably reflecting that under common usage 'bear arms' was in no sense restricted to bearing arms in military service. See Bliss v. Commonwealth, 13 Am. Dec. 251, 12 Ky. 90 (Ky. 1822).

Similarly, in a released Senate report on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Senator Orrin Hatch, chairman, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on the Constitution, states:

They argue that the Second Amendment's words "right of the people" mean "a right of the state" — apparently overlooking the impact of those same words when used in the First and Fourth Amendments. The "right of the people" to assemble or to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures is not contested as an individual guarantee. Still they ignore consistency and claim that the right to "bear arms" relates only to military uses. This not only violates a consistent constitutional reading of "right of the people" but also ignores that the second amendment protects a right to "keep" arms. "When our ancestors forged a land "conceived in liberty", they did so with musket and rifle. When they reacted to attempts to dissolve their free institutions, and established their identity as a free nation, they did so as a nation of armed freemen. When they sought to record forever a guarantee of their rights, they devoted one full amendment out of ten to nothing but the protection of their right to keep and bear arms against governmental interference. Under my chairmanship the Subcommittee on the Constitution will concern itself with a proper recognition of, and respect for, this right most valued by free men."

Likewise, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), No. 07-290, that "[t]he Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.

Thank You Thomas for the wonderful information which are my sentiments exactly.  And thank you Terry; I understand your words as I know this God who is coming, and do know that it's not by the might of man or his power that will turn the tides or bring deliverance to this world, but it man's might that has brought us to this estate with the help of the prince and powers of the air, the "god of this age," and I know the Lord Triumphant reigns and will reign Amen!  Deliverance is on the other side of the many woes that are on the shore, no doubt, and yes, our confidence is in God no matter what we face.  But as far as being a citizen of this world and country, which fought for the rights and freedoms which have made it the city on a hill that it has been, it is from this vantage sad to see powers in this country working against the spirit that has been our freedom, power, strength.  Disarm our people and we become no different than any country who has had no power against it's own tyranny, let alone exterior powers.  It will be a sad and awesome day for America.
