Jill, I gotta comment because your few little words gave me a little of that "quickening" that I think you are referring to. By the way....Georgous Picture Thomas!!! Love this one! Another Steal! Ok............How many know what God means when he says..... "the letter killeth but the Spirit gives Life!" and...."the flesh profits nothing...life is in the Spirit!" 2 of may favorites! How many people have you known that have felt or been "killed" (not literally)...by the "Law?" the law being the Word without any Spirit....or with the human spirit? such as the Commandments came?...But if the "Word" is given or heard or received with the Spirit who "is" the Word....then it "gives" Life! And the Word is God and God is the Spirit and the Spirit "is" Love....but not human love so much as a certain Eternal Love that has a "quickening" element in it...that creates or imparts spiritual life to you!.....and this is the greatest point and mystery....that when this Word comes ignited with God's "Spirit" it....imparts "spiritual" life to you! Prior to any presence of God in us we have no spiritual life...atleast not by him....because it's Him that "translates us from death to life" as he says....death being having no spiritual life in him because we are not yet Redeemed by and born of his spirit. "I am the Light of the World" he said....and I think you're words spoke of that light. preachergirl
