Can you guys Kathy or Jill explain to me the fascination of Star Trek? and what is a Trekkie, and why there is  language that only Trekkie's know? and do you know some of that? to me it was a tv show that took on many life forms in the media nothing more lol. You guys even have conventions here in L.A.

I'm not fascinated with StarTrek itself, just some of the actors, William Shatner of the original, and Levar Burton and Patrick Stewart of Next Generation, some of the ladies also, Nichelle Nichols of the original, and from Next Gen: Gates McFadden (Mom? Crusher, she had a son named Wesley) and Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troy). 

Actually last year when I was looking up college scholarship info for my son, I found out there's a scholarship for people who have learned to speak Klingon. 

...and the dweeby characters on one of my favorite TV shows "The Big Bang Theory" speak Klingon.  Jim Parsons, who plays my favorite character, Sheldon, also had a bit role in the movie "Garden State" several years ago, in which his ability to speak Klingon was also mentioned!!
