WORSHIP GOD WITH PRAISE
Psalm 107:8, 15, 21, 31 “Oh that men would praise the Lord.”
By Rev. Dean Beaty 12/19/08
Other than on Sunday, how about the other days,
Do we praise our God above, or give to Jesus praise?
For sure our lives are hectic and we’re always in a rush.
We take the time for meals and we don’t forget to brush.
But how about the Savior, do we take the time for praise,
In songs that we are singing or the prayers to God we raise?
It is not that we forget Him. We daily ask for care.
But our worship and our praise, is that also in our prayer?
“Oh that men would praise the Lord,” is what the psalmist said.
That’s the way to start the day before we rise from bed.
There’ll never be a short supply. Start with, cleansed from sin.
The list would reach around the moon and back to earth again.
“Praise Him all ye stars of light.” Yes, they’re to praise God too. (Psalm 148:3)
Yet Jesus did not die for them as He did for me and you.
If burning stars though out the night give praise to His dear name.
Blood washed saints for whom Christ died should surely do the same.
“With my song will I praise Him.” Not just on Sunday morn. (Psalm 28:7)
With words of praise though out our days, His name we should adorn.
Take time each day to give Him praise for new life and liberty.
Make this your goal and joy in life for all eternity.
