GOD  DESERVES  OUR  BEST

I know I’m getting older, this I must confess.

But in church I’m getting tired of contemporary dress.

Especially in the choir and not because of means.

I see fellows in “T” shirts and women in blue jeans.

One doesn’t have to wear the best money can buy.

But when it comes God; not just what will get by.

When we speak to God we do not call Him “dude.”

Our dress can also show a disrespectful attitude.

If you met the queen or stood before the king,

You would want to wear the best of everything.

Our God is so much greater than any potentate.

Then how we worship Him should always be first rate.

If you can’t afford it then shop at a Goodwill.

There’s plenty there on hand that will surely fit the bill.

When we come for worship, our God deserves our best.

This is also shown in the way that we are dressed.
