Georgia Peach Cobbler

You can use any fresh fruit for this recipe if you do not have peaches.

Georgia Peach Cobbler

2 cups sliced peaches
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup milk
ground nutmeg

Combine fruit and sugar in a bowl, set aside. Put butter in an 11 x 8 x 2 1/2 inch baking dish. Place in 350 degree oven to melt butter. Butter should be bubbly but not brown.

Combine flour and milk. Pour over melted butter in pan. Spoon fruit mixture on top. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Do not stir. Return to 350 degree oven and bake one hour, or until cobbler is golden brown.

NOTE: To make your own self-rising flour, add 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt to 3/4 cup all-purpose flour.

Hi Donna,

This too looks good, but I am into sweets making these cookies this week, so one more can't hurt, yeah right.

I will have to try it too.

This sounds yummy.  My friend makes a similar dish with Blueberries.

Yum Yum, Myrna. Cookies sound good, too. I'll take either the Christmas cookies or the peach cobbler!
