GOD’S PROTECTING CARE
By Rev. Dean Beaty 12/18/08
In the morning I often pray.
“Watch over us Lord though out this day.”
Usually my thoughts are of the road,
Like having a wreck or being towed.
I seldom think of personal harm,
For which I’ll need the Lord’s strong arm.
But the Spirit knows what lies ahead,
And makes my prayer what I should have said.
How could I cover every base,
In asking God for protecting grace?
So I might never think to say,
“Keep a purse snatcher far away.”
But that’s exactly what God did,
When approached by a thieving kid.
“Thank you Lord I was alert,
And through it all we were not hurt.”
Have you gone to God in prayer,
And thanked the Lord for being there?
How many times we’re unaware,
Of God’s swift help and tender care?
