CHRIST  OUR  EXAMPLE

Philippians 2:5-8

Christ is our example as how to treat our brothers.

He gave all of Himself in selfless love for others.

If we were more like Christ, then men would see the Lord.

Our concern for others could never be ignored.

Again He showed the way with a committed servant’s heart.

Christ came not to be served.  In this He stood apart.

He came to serve mankind in total dedication.

His selfless act of love deserves our imitation.

The natural man comes first, no matter what the price.

But Jesus came to die to be our sacrifice.

He gave all of Himself complete and unconditional.

“It is finished,” was His cry.  Nothing need be additional.

Ask yourself these questions.  Do I need to be first?

Satan smiles with glee, as our selfishness is nursed.

Do I seek my own comfort above the rest of men?

Christ left His home with God to walk amongst our sin.

One final thing to check; do I need to be served?

Christ washed disciple’s feet, though some were quite unnerved.

He is our best example.  No greater love could be.

He gave Himself to die, that sinners might be free.
