Re: Zogby Poll: Almost No Obama Voters Ace Election Test
11/19/2008 5:08:15 PM
Hi Amanda,

I thought it was very interesting reading that poll too and as you said also somewhat amazing that people can be so lead by their emotions instead of thinking for themselves. What I also find interesting is that when you actually tell people the truth they somehow still remain in denial; like the wife that enables her husband to be an alcoholic she too is in denial.

I agree most of the uninformed Americans do like their safe," little boxes" as they cannot handle intelligent discussions not only here in ALP but anywhere on or off the Internet. G-d forbid if you might disagree with them.

I have to say much of this has stemmed from the intentional dumbing down of the American population as a whole. The school systems are graduating 17 and 18 year old children that cannot read at a 5th grade level (how sad is that?). Social passing has been in effect for at least the past 25 years here now and every time they overhaul the system they dumb it down a little more. The goal is socialism (communism  in a liberal wrapper tied neatly with the ribbon of political correctness) ThaT  goal has almost been reached with the newly elected Obama what ever his name is.

You should know me well enough by now to know I am not a," fence sitter" and I will not go quietly into the darkness.

Thank you my friend I always appreciate your input. Meaningful discussions are always welcome here :)

Blessings,
Geketa

PS here is something you might also get a good laugh about : if it were not so terribly sad .. it goes along with the poll

A new documentary demonstrates how uninformed some Barack Obama voters are about American politics and the recent presidential campaign.

Documentary filmmaker John Ziegler interviewed a dozen Obama voters as they left the polls on Election Day "to see what they learned from the media coverage of the campaign." Ziegler says the twelve "were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience."

John Ziegler

He has posted a video of the interviews on the website HowObamaGotElected.com. Here is a small portion what the Obama voters had to say when asked some basic political questions.

Ziegler: Which party currently controls Congress?

Adarsha (Obama voter): Currently? Like - I don't know, actually.

Melinda (Obama voter): The Republicans.

Nick (Obama voter): Uh, Republicans.

Ronald (Obama voter): Republicans.

Ziegler: Republicans control Congress?

Ronald: Yes. Yes.

Janan (Obama voter): Probably Republican because the president's Republican. That's my honest answer.

Ziegler:  Do you know who Barney Frank is?

Amber (Obama voter): Um, no."

Ziegler: How about Nancy Pelosi?

Amber: "No."

Ziegler: How about Harry Reid?

Amber: I've heard that name but I don't know who that is."

Ziegler: What do you think of Barney Frank?

Adarsha: "I have no idea who that is."

Although nearly all of the Obama voters interviewed did not know who the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate were, they did know that the Republican Party spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's wardrobe and also knew that she was the one candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter.
