THANKFUL  FOR  THE  FUTURE

Most often we are thankful for the things that we’ve received,

And sometime we are thankful for the things we have achieved.

But are you often thankful for the things you have not seen?

The things off in the future that you have yet to glean.

I’m thankful for the future that the Lord’s prepared for me.

To try to thank Him fully will take eternity.

I’m thankful for His promise to wipe away all tears.

I’m thankful that in heaven there will be no woeful fears.

Thankful for the wedding feast; for I’m His chosen bride.

I’m thankful for the body that will be glorified.

I’m thankful for the mansion that He’s prepared for me.

Thankful for the thrill I’ll know when first His face I’ll see.

Thankful for the friends of earth who’ve died and gone before.

What a glad reunion when I enter heaven’s door.

I’m thankful for the streets of gold but that will fade from view.

For they will be as nothing if there I find you too.

Ten-trillion things yet coming that have not crossed my mind.

There’s one I have not mention; all my sins are left behind.

I’m thankful for the nail pierced hands that He’ll outstretch to me.

I’ll hear Him say from His own lips, “These hands were pierced for thee.”
