Split Pea Soup
10/28/2008 10:55:16 PM
I bought another cookbook from an antique shop and will post a few of the recipes that sounded good, but easy to make. I plan on trying these myself, so hoped they would interest my Adlander friends as well.

Split Pea Soup

Combine:

1 cup green dried split peas
2 quarts cold water
1 ham bone (I will use ham pieces since I don't buy it on the bone)

Cook until the peas begin to soften.

Add:
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, diced
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. salt

Cook until vegetables are tender. Serve hot.

Hi Nick,

I haven't heard of Michael Smith but I bookmarked the recipe section of his website to browse when I have more time. Thanks for the hint!
