I found this recipe in our local newspaper, submitted by Connie Burkett (I wanted to give her the credit due her.)
Apple Brownies
1 cup soft butter 1 3/4 cups sugar 2 eggs, well beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 2 cups chopped apples 1/2 cup cup pecans/walnuts
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients. Mix until flour is moistened. Fold in apples and nuts. Spread into a greased 9 X 13 inch dish. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Serve with drizzle vanilla glaze.
Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar 1 tablespoon hot water 1/4 tsp. vanilla
