Wow Myrna,

You are so right and THANK YOU for the invite to come and visit. I just got the most beautiful dose of culture and wisdom I could find anywhere. What an awesome story of the dogwood too.

Phil you are wonderful to have posted all of those paper images. They are so life like I can hardly believe my eyes of the talent that created them.

This is way too awesome Miss Myrna. Thank you!

Hi Jill,

Thanks for dropping in to see the paper art of Native Americans, thanks to my our friend Phil.

Looking forward to what Cort has to offer on the Native Americans, I would be thrilled to have him visit here.

Hugs,
Myrna

Native American Prayer

Oh, Great Spirit
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me, I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have
made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand the things
you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my Spirit may come to you without shame.

(translated by Lakota Sioux Chief Yellow Lark in 1887)
published in Native American Prayers - by the Episcopal Church.

Hi Barb,

Thanks so much for coming, I knew everyone would enjoy them if they saw them. Can you imagine the work and time in these pieces of art. I would love to watch them.

I found this one for you.

I have collected owls for many years, they are special to Native Americans

Owls are Messengers in Native American and Alaskan Native Beliefs

Owls have been around for millions of years, and many myths have been told about them. Some people believe owls are wise while others believe they are messengers of death or just plain evil.

Isn't he gorgeous

Hugs, Myrna

Hi Myrna I love the owl picture! They are all beautiful. I do not believe any birds or animals deliver any messages of evil. They are all innocent creatures. Only humans create evil.

Love and big hugs.

Barb :)
