Hi Myrna,

Well, the Week of Recognition that has been deserved for so long is finally here.  Although I realize that tomorrow is the official day to start, I'll be involved with Special Services at the Church for most of tomorrow, so I hoped that you wouldn't mind if I started a little early.  Of course, I'll be back on Monday to carry on with the Celebration.

When the course of history has been told
Let these truths here carved be known:
Conscience dictates civilizations live
And duty ours to place before the world,
A chronicle which will long endure.
for like all things under us and beyond
inevitably we must pass into oblivion.

this land of refuge to the stranger
was our for countless eons before:
civilizations majestic and mighty.
our gifts were many which we shared
and gratitude for them was known.
but later, given my oppressed ones
were murder, rape and sanguine war.

looking east from whence invaders came,
greedy usurpers of our heritage.
for us the past is in our hearts,
the future never to be fulfilled.
to you i give this granite epic
for your descendants to always know-
"my lands are where my dead lie buried."

Hi Myrna,

I just love visiting your forum.  What wonderful posts and so much wisdom and history to learn by.

I discovered a newly remodeled site by the Klamath Tribes which are just north of Mt. Shasta.  I love the spirits looking from the sky.  :-)

One day soon maybe there will be enough time in our lives that we can spend valued time with our Native Americans to expand our journey.  There is so much to learn, and LOVE IS THE ANSWER!

Myrna, it is hard not to keep coming back to your terrific forum with all the new information being posted.  So many beautiful graphics, poetry and writings.

We honor our American Natives who understand this earth much better than most.  To be in touch with Nature is to be in touch with God.

To all those posting here and to Myrna, thank you for all your contributions.

Blessings,

Sara

Hi Phil, Jill and Sara,

It is so great to have you 3 with me on this journey to help the Native Americans be uplifted as a great people and if we white would only listen to them, but instead we had to do things our way, with chemicals and things that are not good for Mother Earth, and look at the mess we are in.

Coming in April 2009 PBS is having a mini-series on Native Americans

We Shall Remain is a groundbreaking mini-series and provocative multi-media project that establishes Native history as an essential part of American history. Five 90-minute documentaries spanning three hundred years tell the story of pivotal moments in U.S. history from the Native American perspective.

I am so excited to hear the Native Americans perspective.  Wow, we have a chance to hear their side of the story.

Their will be one part on Geronimo. When I look at this picture I see sadness, and feel the sadness.
