Hello Joe,
The posting and maintenance of a thread
should always be the prerogative of the
moderator. Assuming your angle is respectful
of all opinions - even those that you and
your supporters vehemently oppose - please
proceed as you see fit.
The sickness and death of Madelyn Dunham,
the grandmother of President-elect Barrack
Obama (Barrack Hussein Obama, if you prefer)
were cheapened by the conspiracy theory of
the California resident you quoted. The
electoral die was cast in September, when
the Wall Street meltdown hit the global
mainstream. It sealed the Bush legacy,
irreversibly shook the McCain campaign, and
consequently made Obama look more presidential.
No right-thinking American chooses sympathy
as a major voting criteria. Image, yes.
Policies, absolutely. Flipping a coin?
Hopefully not many.
I am a Canadian and this election captured
foreign attention like no other. If you wish
to create a post-election analysis thread, I
may engage you.
For now, regardless of your political views,
recognize the results for what they are: a
clear mandate for the first African-American
President in U.S. history.
Sincerely,
Rahul aka Info-entrepreneur RM
P.S. As I write, President-elect Obama has
garnered over 63 million votes (52%)
- beating President Bush's 2004 count.
