Dear Phil,
Thank you for coming by again and for the beautiful words you once again share. I can't remember if I told you or if you even know but in 2002 , I suffered a near fatal accident that left me lost in the wilderness 24 hours before they found me.
During those 24 hours, in the darkness alone, I had time to think about so many things and one of them was ... life can be over in a bat of an eyelid. None of us know when or how it will happen.
In life, there will always be a deadline; there will always be something that demands our attention; there's always something that needs to be done but when we're no longer here none of it will really matter. So, what's the point of stressing over it? Stress is the biggest killer around and we mainly suffer it because of the amount of influence we allow others to have in our lives, and how we allow them to affect us.
We're only human and we can only do so much. I guess the trick is to balance what we love doing with the demands that come at us from others. Since my accident, I made it my policy never to do anything I really don't like doing. I know that isn't necessarily an option for everyone but we all have the potential to create our worlds the way we want them to be.
I hope you find that special balance in your life. I'm not saying that you won't feel pressures any more ... but ... when there's that certain serenity dealing with whatever is thrown at us is much easier. Perspectives change and outlooks change.
Namaste my dear friend and have a lovely rest of the week. Take care
V.
