Hi Jo,
I've been in the process of applying for online university classes, but haven't finished my paperwork yet. I keep wondering WHY? All 3 of my sisters have a college education, one of them has been a lifetime student while also working, I think she got her Masters Degree last year, who knows?!
The other 2 started college when they were over 40 years old, WHY? One of them made tons of money with just a high school diploma while working as a computer programmer for pharmaceutical companies. She quit that job after 20 years to get a degree in teaching, she was a teacher for a few years and didn't like it! Then she got a job at a health food store (she weighs about 225 by the way, never eats health food!) Now at age 49 she's back at the pharmaceutical company with her old job at the computers!
My other big sister went to school to become a medical assistant when she was in her early 40's and she couldn't find a job in that field for 5 months after graduating, then she finally got a job in a medical supplies office. An office job! After paying an $8,000 student loan to learn how to take peoples' blood and all that medical assisting training!
I went to an employment agency yesterday, and the snooty receptionist told me I'd need TWO pieces of identification. They also didn't have a sign on the door about what times they open or close, so I had to ASK. You'd think a business run by college educated people would at least put a SIGN on the front glass door so people KNOW what they need before they walk in, and what time the place is open and closed. I could do HER job better than she does and it do it less rudely. She was rude and an obvious donut-eater. (Overweight in an extremely hot office!)
