Hi Jo,

I've been in the process of applying for online university classes, but haven't finished my paperwork yet.  I keep wondering WHY?  All 3 of my sisters have a college education, one of them has been a lifetime student while also working, I think she got her Masters Degree last year, who knows?!

The other 2 started college when they were over 40 years old, WHY?  One of them made tons of money with just a high school diploma while working as a computer programmer for pharmaceutical companies.  She quit that job after 20 years to get a degree in teaching, she was a teacher for a few years and didn't like it!  Then she got a job at a health food store (she weighs about 225 by the way, never eats health food!)  Now at age 49 she's back at the pharmaceutical company with her old job at the computers!

My other big sister went to school to become a medical assistant when she was in her early 40's and she couldn't find a job in that field for 5 months after graduating, then she finally got a job in a medical supplies office.  An office job!  After paying an $8,000 student loan to learn how to take peoples' blood and all that medical assisting training!

I went to an employment agency yesterday, and the snooty receptionist told me I'd need TWO pieces of identification.  They also didn't have a sign on the door about what times they open or close, so I had to ASK.  You'd think a business run by college educated people would at least put a SIGN on the front glass door so people KNOW what they need before they walk in, and what time the place is open and closed.  I could do HER job better than she does and it do it less rudely.  She was rude and an obvious donut-eater.  (Overweight in an extremely hot office!)

Hey Thomas,

No meddlesome personal questions from your old pal
up here in Canada.

I just wanted to say that us, as in we, as in all of us here
at ALP and other sites are in the right place doing the right
thing.

Did ya see the stocks?

The layoffs?

Heck....I'm one of those stats up here...

Got laid off in 2006 after 22 years of
dedicated service.

Did I sit and wait for a welfare check? Nope!

Got my butt in gear and now make a living on
the net with IM.

Working for yourself has a steep learning curve
but it's worth it.

You count on yourself, not the stocks, not the boss...YOU!

That's my rant for the day....

Stay cool!

Jason

Um okay Jo you want to answer Kathy with her education question? When i moved from L.A. down to here in Carlsbad to look after my granny, i knew i had to make some extra money some how, i did take an on line course in Marketing Management Kathy, it cost me 50 bucks and that was through Colorado Tech. Finished my degree within 8 months, you get your own personal website to log in and present your paperwork right there from your computer (upload) (download) with Windows Office 03 which i have a degree in anyway and turn in the reports, you also have other students working in that same class whatever it may be in and get associated with, very cool. They send you the stuff you need. Try it?
