What are the trifles of life you pursue?

What are the things that mean most to you?

Only the things that are sent on ahead,

Mean more than zero, once we are dead.

Here are some things we can send onto God,

The praise and the worship to Him that we laud.

The children we raise and give to the Lord.

These are some things that in heaven are stored.

Then there’s the person you tell about God,

To get off the path that Jesus called “broad.”

As they bow there heads asking Christ to come in,

To give them new life and to cleanse them from sin.

Someone once said, many years in the past,

“Only what’s done for the Savior will last.”

All else is consumed as wood, stubble or hay.

What are the trifles you live for today?
