THE  PURPOSE  OF  LIFE

What is the purpose of life on this earth?

What’s the pursuit that gives our life worth?

Let me suggest that the only true thing,

Is the glory and praise to the Savior we bring.

Just what in this life will honestly last,

After the last breath of your life is past?

One’s wealth is worthless left in the grave.

What’s left of those trifles for which we slave?

But praise to our God is stored evermore,

Awaiting our arrival on heaven’s bright shore.

Throughout eternity more praises we’ll bring,

His, will be the theme of each song that we sing.

To get in the habit and practice down here,

Trust in His word that His coming is near.

Then when the Lord comes we’ll not be ashamed,

That in all our living, He was not named.
