This post is to extend my apologies to you and all those who took or will take the time to visit your forum. I don't want to come across as someone who teamed up with Terry to gang up on Geketa. That was not my intention ... and I'm sure it wasn't Terry's, either.
But you should know me by now. Political correctness is something I despise with every fiber of my being. It was political correctness that allowed Adolf Hitler to annihilate countless Jews. And it is political correctness that is taking this country to utter destruction.
It really bugs me when someone uses religion as an excuse to attack someone else's terminology ... or beliefs, for that matter. Many men and women went to other shores to fight for our freedoms and the freedoms of others across the globe ... and they never came home. These men and women - many of them mere boys and girls - were someone's father, mother, husband, wife, uncle, aunt, brother, sister, cousin, etc. And it bugs me to no end when someone acts as if their sacrifice was meaningless.
And in case you're not reading between the lines, Geketa, my apology also extends to you. You don't know me well enough to understand that I, and every member of my family, once took an oath to defend everyone's right to live as they choose and be free to practice their chosen religion ... yours included. You can tell me that my beliefs are wrong 24/7/365 ... and vice-versa! All I know is one thing. Some day we'll know who was right and who was wrong ... because there can only be ONE truth.
But that doesn't matter NOW. So why can't we just enjoy each other's company? We're only going to be here for a very short while.
Many ancient tribes had an altar dedicated to "the unknown god." How wise!
