To Be A Dad...
Any man can father a child, this we all know is true,
But to be a good dad there's a whole lot more, that such a man must do.
He has the strength to endure long, hard days, even as his body tires,
And the love in his heart, shows in his eyes to the child who so admires.
He shows honesty throughout each day, and that life is really worth living,
And he's caring in all that he does, both in taking and in giving.
Understanding is a big part of the true Dad's heart as well,
And though he may feel pain or hurt at times, he must never, never tell.
He has great laughter that shows in his eyes, and comes rolling from within,
And he lights up the face of each little child, as each day draws to an end.
Hopes for today, Dreams for tomorrow, is what he must keep showing,
And though he grows older he still feels great joy, for the love of his children keeps growing.
