Linda, thank you for posting this 'touchy' subject matter.  It has a definite ring of truth behind it.  Having been born and raised in SE USA, just because I was White, my Black friends felt I owed them something.  I don't believe any of my ancestors were plantation owners.  I saw many injustices growing up and would question my parents about it.  My parents told me they did not agree with how things were but had to go along with the law.  They also taught me to treat all people the same regardless of color of skin. 

What I simply cannot understand this day and time, is how can you distinquish White or Black race since there is so much mixed genes.  Do you know of anyone race that does not have some mixing of other races at one point or other!?  So why do we still speak of racism?  I will stop here, don't want to offend anyone.  There is One who will judge us all and at one point we will be one race again as in the beginning, why all the bickering.

This is very interesting.I like people whatever colour they have on their skin, but one thing is for sure, some are hiding behind those racist arguments all the time, so that they can´t recieve any critic at all.

Here in Sweden we have immigrants who have lived here for ages without learning swedish, and I find that very strange.How can a person then be functional in the society?

This was interesting and it has nothing to do with being a racist, not at all!

I agree, Mom is always complaining about the Spanish speaking people in our area who will not learn English.   Through my last JOB I learned to pick up some Spanish, enough to understand the gist of what they are saying.   Odd since I have speach problems myself and have had to re-learn to speak clearly twice now. 

It's like if mom does not know what they are saying she thinks it is something bad.   When I explain the woman is telling her son to behave, as a mother mom can relate to that, so all of a sudden it's ok.  

Odd how we pick up superstitions about various things.
