Hi,Kathy and Everyone At AdlandPro!
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and kind Words, and I want to let all of you know that we had a very nice Anniversary! We went out to Eat at our Favorite Chinese Restaurant with a very special Couple, Deacon Steve(who was the Deacon at our Church)and His Wife, Anne. We enjoyed the Food, the Gift they gave us and the opportunity to be among People that love us and are concerned for us, and think the World of us! I would love to share a Story with all of you that I wrote a long time ago while I was in a State of Depression. I have come a long way in my life, since I wrote this Story! I hope you enjoy it!
Most People have to die and go to Heaven before they are able to see an Angel. I am one of the lucky few that has found an Angel on Earth. In Seven Short Months, she has transformed me from a Beer Guzzling, Swear Spewing Son of an ill begotten Mother, to a God Loving Christian.
She and I are both from a Small Town called Taunton, in the State of Massachusetts. We were both locked into a Marriage that made our seperate lives miserable. She was able to cope through the Love of God. I was unable to do the same, because I refused to recognize His existence.
In April of 1987, I boarded a Bus and watched with Tears in my Eyes as my home Town became a hazy mist and than - nothing. I had tried to call Shirley to let her know that I was leaving, but, deep down inside I knew that If I heard her Sweet, Gentle Voice I would want one, last Rendevous, which would make my departure impossible.
I arrived in Indianapolis with $150.00 and determination. I soon realized that determination was no good without motivation. In the following Months, I stayed at the various illustrious Hotels that Indianapolis has to offer: The Lighthouse, Wheeler Mission, and Harbor Light to name a few. Yes, I was slipping. Each step I took was as Quicksand. I worked at various jobs long enough to make enough money to get drunk. I had given up, but, fortunately, a Woman with Strong, Religious Beliefs refused to give up on me.
My Angel,Shirley, arrived at 2:36PM December 22, 1988!
Since the 21st of December, makes 17 Years I have not had a drink! Shirley has brought me back to God and I enjoy going to Church with her every Sunday to Worship our Lord! We are both Ministers Of Hospitality at our Church(The Good Shepherd Catholic Church), and it feels so good to serve the Lord! What a Miracle! I am so thankful and forever grateful to the good Lord for bringing "My Angel Here On Earth" to me!

Today, Friday, August 19th is our Tenth Anniversary, and I want to thank all of you for sharing it with us!
