In 1959 I made the decision to come to the States. I have been involved in Music - I learned to play the c-Flute at age 5, then the piano, the mandolin, mandola and the guitar. My Father was member of a mandolin orchestra, my sister joined also and when I was about 14 I wanted to be part of it too. I played for about 7 years.
When I was 16 I started working in a handweaving mill as apprentice for 3 years and got my diploma. Then the company folded up and I went to work for a Cotton Broker 'Nauman Sr.'and from there I got a job with a Cotton Firm in Houston TX as a Cotton Fiber Technician. On a Lykes Line Freighter it took 11 days from London to New Orleans, then to Houston, where I spend 6 years working for Goedecke Cotton Brokers.
After the company merged with Memphis TN, I worked for Sinclair Houston Credit Union. After that it was General Electric Credit Union in Atlanta Ga. I got interested in decorating cakes, started catering to weddings, had more business than I could handle. Had some bad luck and started a new life in California.
Being second Mom to 12 kids in my Daycare for about 12 years has taught me a lot of patience and I learned a lot about people in general. I lost my husband in 1999 and took me a few years to realize that life is worth living afterall. My interests have changed a bit. My love for computers is demanding more hours every day. I love to build websites. My other hobbies are beading and, living now on a Llama Farm in AZ, of course Llamas. Elgin AZ, in SE Arizona, close to the border, prettiest place I have seen in a while. I am sure there are lots of places like that. To me, after living close to San Diego CA, this is heaven. No more gridlock - when we see 5 cars in a row, that's bigtime traffic. We are surrounded by horse ranches, cattle ranches and my friends, who I live with, have the Llama Ranch. Next door there are Alpacas. And I have to fight my way thru 10 cats at feeding time. We now in Monsoon Season. Everything is turning green. The grass if it isn't eaten up by the Llamas stands already one foot tall. Monsoons are a must, but can be so vicious. It nearly ripped off some barn roofs. Matter of fact when we moved out here almost 2 years ago, the barns that my friends built for the animals were facing in the wrong direction. Guess what - they were flattened out in no time. Sheetmetal from one of the roofs sailed thru the air cutting down a young tree. Thunderstorms are plentiful. I love to be here, I enjoy the scenery, have never seen so many pretty clouds - but all this is going to change soon, I will have to move to Atlanta to be with my family again.
On the Road again .................
Well, I am here now, in Hotlanta as they say. Some day I'll continue this.
In the meantime
Best wishes and lots of success in whatever you are doing
