My husband and I run a small, privately owned animal rescue shelter called St francis Last Chance Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Shelter of West Texas. We live in a part of West Texas where many people go to dump their unwanted animals, hoping they will die here. We go out and try to pick up the worst cases that need our help the most and nurture them back to health and into a loving home. Up until now, we have managed to keep the shelter going on private merits, but now we need to expand the shelter and have also fallen on hard times, so we must reach out to caring people and ask for support from the public. We will accept pretty much anything, we're not too picky. We're pretty desperate at this point and ANY support will be immensely appreciated!
Our biggest need is for medical sponsors to help with the mounting vet bills and we need generous people to foster or adopt animals from the shelter.
We desperately need a new air conditioner for the inside cat rooms. The one we have right now is on its last leg. We could even use non-running air-conditioners to perhaps fix the one we have now or piece several non-working ones together to make a new working one. Below is a list of other things that we accept, but you are not limited to just these items, it is just a suggestive list of things that we need at the moment, we accept anything that would be of use to animals or thier environment:
Kennels, pet taxis, grooming equipment, feeding dishes, cat litter, animal bedding, blankets, first aid kits, flea & tick repellants, fly & mosquito repellants, dog houses, treadmills, new unopened foods & treats, animal toys, animal shampoos, bleach, vinegar, disinfectants, vitamins & supplements, leashes, collars, doggie sweaters (for cold natured not for fashion), doggie boots (again, for sensitive pads not for fashion), Elizabethan collars, plastic swimming pools, 5-gallon buckets, things we could sell on e-bay or at a fundraiser or garage sale, etc...
We will come and pick up anything substantial (and will fit in the back of a ford explorer sport) within a 2 hr drive of Odessa TX. We are not a non-profit organization (although we are working tirelessly to become so) we cannot give any tax credits for the donations received, but you will have the heart of an abused animal and we will place your name on our "Wall of Heroes" If you cannot give to us, please consider giving to an animal rescue shelter in your area! We also market products on the internet to try and make money for the shelter. We haven't had any luck with it so far, but maybe we just need more publicity, so please, tell anyone you know about our store called "Helping-Hands-Helping-Paws" http://community.adlandpro.com/store/Helping-Hands-Helping-Paws.aspx All proceeds from the sale of items in this store go to benefit the shelter. Store has many different products from pet products to green products and even a few business opportunities. All products and business opportunities are researched thoroughly to make sure they are genuine and scam free.
