Hi, my name is Mike Morgan - more readily known as Big Red. As you can see by my picture, with this red hair and then standing at a meer 6 foot 6 inches, it isn't hard to figure out where that name came from! Most of my years in school the teachers never knew what my name was I was always referred to as "Red".
Two years ago I met the wonderful woman who became known as "Mrs. Big Red". Along with my son Kevin, she brought with her two beautiful young ladies, Tonia and Kandi to make us an instant family of five. Tonia, the oldest recently moved to Nashville to start college. She is a wonderful artist and a good saxophone player too. Plus, her last three years at Albertville she decided to play the tuba in the Aggie band. We miss her greatly since she's been away. The baby girl, Kandi is still carrying on the music legacy marching with the Albertville Aggie Band and being one of those representing us in the Macy's Day parade in New York this Thanksgiving. Only six High School bands were invited to march in the parade. So you can see why we are so proud. Kevin has just begun what we hope will be a great future in the military by joining the Junior ROTC.
My wife Jan has worked for almost 22 years at Redstone Arsenal and I have worked a little bit of everywhere. I've worked in all the trailer plants that have been around the area down through the years as a sheet rock finisher and at the present time I am employed by Keith Gaskin Drywall and Paints, still working with sheet rock.
My family attends Pleasant Valley Baptist Church off Highway 79 just inside the Blount County Line. Along with my mother-in-law, 5 dogs and a yard full of community cats - we make up the Morgan Clan.
