Hello Everybody,
This is indeed an honor to be chosen as the 119th POTW. A very good friend of mine (a past POTW) posted a message welcoming me to the "club". Well I had a look at all the past POTW's and must say that it's a Whammy (thanks Kathleen) of an honor to be in a club with all of them. Thanks to all of you for your support.
I was born 12 days after my mother was released from a concentration camp in May 1945 (my father was murdered in one of the concentration camps). My mother and a very good friend were both pregnant and were lucky to survive at all but triply so in their condition. From Poland my mother returned to her native Czechoslovakia and at the age of 2 and a half we immigrated to the USA. The family that was our sponsor was my mother's first cousins and they were like a second family to me. My mother's cousin passed away and a few years later my mother married her husband who immediately adopted me. So Uncle Jack turned into Dad and he was the best father you could ask for.
At the age of 13 we moved to Israel and aside from 14 years I've lived here ever since. I am very fortunate to have dual citizenship both US and Israeli.
I returned to the US and served almost 4 years in the USAF after which I returned to Israel and finished my University studies (BA Business Administration & Economics).
Unfortunately I participated in 3 wars here and many skirmishes while on reserve duty but I won't go into that in this bio.
I got married in 1971 and we have 2 beautiful daughters and 2 magnificent granddaughters (that I spoil to death).
I was in partnership with my brother-in-law for many years in the under garment industry until my wife and I opened the doors of Ruth's Creations a factory for elegant girls clothing. We sold the business due to a terrible economic period (inflation of 20-30% per month) and at that time I went to South Africa and my wife and younger daughter joined me there after 6 months. I owned 3 private businesses and was also the President of a local company owned by a Singaporean group. After spending a very fruitful period in SA, I sold my businesses and we returned to Israel.
After returning to Israel I took "time off" from work and got involved as a volunteer in local charities and enjoyed helping others so much it's become a habit and a way of life.
Just over 6 years ago I decided that it's time to go back to work and invested in restaurants. I enjoyed this so much that I spent nearly 15 hours a day in the businesses. It had everything I enjoyed, meeting new people, insuring that they received not only the best food but the best service and of course "kibitzing" with them.
All good things come to an end. The 15 hours a day took its toll so when I got an offer I couldn't refuse I sold the restaurants and became a free agent again.
Luckily during the restaurant period when I had "free time" I became involved in Internet and Network Marketing. I decided to do this full time and haven't looked back since and enjoy every minute of it. Of course like all of us I've made mistakes but being on a constant learning curve I've learned from my mistakes and from my mentors that put me back in the right direction.
I once again want to thank all of you for your support and granting me the honor of joining the POTW "Club".
All the best to all of you & Shalom,
Peter
Folks, it is time to honor Peter for the kindness he has shown us here at AdlandPro. Please invite him to join your list of friends if he isn't already on it.
