The meaning of the name BILL;

WILLIAM from the Germanic name Wilhelm, which was composed of the elements wil "will, desire" and helm "helmet, protection". The name was introduced to Britain by the Normans.
WILMER is possibly derived from the Germanic elements wil "will, desire" and meri "famous". It could also be a masculine form of WILMA.
WILBUR Germanic elements wil "will, desire" and 'burh' meaning burg from ancient Greek 'πύργος' [purgos] meaning "fortress".

Here is BILL'S bio;

Thank you Marilyn for the invite to the Parade of Stars,

I am honoured to be featured on one of AdlandPro's best known Feature Forums and hope my biography will help both my current and future friends to get know me better. I am enjoying the new friendships I am making.
Although I have only been a member of AdlandPro Community for a short time, I have spent many years working on the Internet, and I am primarily service oriented in the things I do.

Astrologically speaking I am a Taurus in the western calendar and a Rat in the Chinese calendar being born on the 4th of May 1948.
This event took place in the northwest of England, Cumberland as it was then called, and is also referred to as Wordsworth country as he was also born there and it was the lake district that gave him and many others their inspiration for paintings and poetry. I am sure some will know Wordsworth’s famous poem about the Daffodils.

At school I enjoyed and did very well in math, technical drawing, geography, geology, metal and woodworking and surprisingly English literature. I say surprisingly English literature, as I disliked English language.

At 16 I joined the Royal Engineers Junior Leaders Regiment in Dover in the south of England and went on from there to spend 7 years in the royal Engineers serving in Germany, Gibraltar, and England.

After the military life I found I could not handle the mundane 9 to 5 life and I went to work as a navigation consultant (pre GPS) travelling the world round, looking for new oil deposits, positioning drilling ships and platforms with accuracy of better than -+3 meters from required location to dredging for gold just off shore from Nome in Alaska, to laying a telephone cable on the sea bed from Bangkok in Thailand to Singapore, and have worked in 36 different countries all around the globe.

When GPS became available to the public it killed the need for my field of expertise using land based navigation equipment so I went into the IT industry. I spent 3 years doing a graduate informatica course as a programmer and system analysist to get some paper credentials and worked as a hardware / software support engineer for IBM AS/400 systems and MS NT4 PC networks.

I have been around the internet for about 6 years and taught myself how to create web sites and use many of the various tools needed when working on the internet.

I have to admit I went from one failure to another with various MLM programs, so I gave them up.

Last year I teamed up with a friend from England and we have become business partners.

We needed hosting for our sites as we were tired of being reliant on others to host our sites, so we set up http://www.LowCost-Webspace.com (LCW) to host them and the sites of a couple of my partner’s business contacts.
We are not in the big league but we give our clients the personal touch. We don't handle high usage sites at this time but that will come as we grow. We also do not oversell our capacity, which many do.

We also found we needed a reliable mailbox cleaning system so we built http://mbc.lowcost-webspace.com and made it available to the public as well. Web site owners in particular find this an excellent service.

This year (2006) in April we launched http://www.Prizes4pixels.com  which as the name says is a pixel advertising service with 1124 prizes hidden around the grid.

Although we used a basic script for http://www.Prizes4Pixels.com  we totally customized it and added a one level referral commission’s module which it didn't have, our Mailbox cleaner and LowCost-Webspace site are written by us using base code, not page makers.

We also have a brand new site http://www.lcwrecommends.com on which we will be placing pages for the products we recommend. This is still a project under development and what you see there now (30 Dec 2006) will change drastically in the near future.

I spend a lot of time looking for and testing products that will help with site promotion. The best of these I promote. A selection of these tools can be found by visiting my Adlandpro profile web page until I have completed the re write of LCWRecommends.

As I said I concentrate on finding promotional tools and to this end I have just recently joined 2tillprofit and I have to say that if you're not in yet and you are selling anything then you seriously need to get in. Be it with me or with one of your friends it makes no difference to me, although it would be nice to have you join with me naturally.
