Panda Pointer--What's Nice and what's not!! You tell us! Survey

Panda Pointer survey, As you know I have been telling and showing you how to make the most of Adlandpro and why it is the number # 1 advertising site on the internet. Now for the dark side. This is a survey to find the issues that bog you down. I am compiling a list of the dangers that are inheritant to the internet. Just as in any community we have those who abuse and misuse. To start this discussion I will name several right up front. You may add, disagree, or give your opinion.

1. We are international, do not expect people with English as second language to always fully understand. Mis-understandings happen easily as words and sentence structure cause friction.

2. Not everyone is who they present themselves to be. It is easy to create a profile with false information. Watch for contradictions in profile information and actions in the community.

3. Give out your telephone number, and e-mail cautiously.

4. Hype and exageration are as real in Adlandpro as anywhere in the internet. Do your homework on programes and promoters.

5. Spammers are real, and you are not asked to accomodate them. The delete button with an explaination will suffice or use the situation to YOUR advantage.

6. Disagreements can be handled by removing ones self from the friends list and or forums. Banning and Blocking are options but may cause retaliation.

7. Feedback is for rating a person and their business, not a place to retaliate from some greivance. (This no longer exists as of 2010)

8. Forums are for discussion, advertising and gathering information. They are not a place for greivances.

9. Discussion forums are for interaction, you post, I post and we discuss. Be prepared for someone to disagree. Remember much of the world values freedom of speech. Right or wrong respect for another's opinion will make for good discussion.

10. Forums designated for advertising deserve your kind use. Respect for the invitation is appreciated. Hogging the forum with repeated posting of the same ad is selfishness.

11. Personal mail is open to any legitimate information, either conversation, ads, and invitations (TOS). However, altho not a Term of Service, some people will be furious. You send ads, be prepared for the consequences.

12. Changing the topic in someone forum is not respectful of the forum owner. Start your own forum.

13. Using affliates to imply trust may cloud your thinking, i.e. religion, organizations, memberships, association with others.

14. Begging for money. Do your homework. Give generously to those you wish to help. Not a common worry as most can see if business is so great then they would not be asking.

15. Expect respect/disrespect. What is acceptable to one is not acceptable to another.

16. Monitor your friends list. Profile information can be altered to something with which you wish no association.

17. Monitor all forums as the lead post can be altered. click on "send me a notice when some one replies to this post". ***********************************************************

Now its your turn. What do you think of these statements. What would you like to add??

hi,

i have actually not used this site too much, because of the dissapointing things that you are speaking of. I love to get to know people, to me it is more than just about introducing your business. i basically only ever get emails from people to talk about their business or to pray for someone who is suferring. unfortunatley, it is over used and now it sounds particularly fake that someone is always needing help. i have been online for a long time, and can remember just ignoring those people who always needed some sort of sympathy or prayer. then they used it to get attention, now they use it to make money.

It makes it so that when someone really does need something or help, you can't tke it seriously. I personally am going through something that I would love to talk to people about and maybe get help with, but won't even bring it up, because I don't want to be one of "those" people.

I wish that people would actually take the time to talk to me, and if I don't take advantage of what they are offering, just ignore me all together. life is not like that, and I see no reason why internet life should be any different.

Thanks for listening, and I wish you all luck with your ventures! This is coming from someone who is ready to cancel her account, simply because of the above mentioned reasons. I love to advertise and make money lke the next guy, but not as much as i love to help the guy standing next to me who wants, needs and appreciates it.

ciao!

Emily, You have mentioned several that I will add to the list. The first using religion as a front. Not too long ago it was the rage to quote scripture and use affiliation with churches another way to say "trust" me. Second: you mention people begging for money. If one's business is as great as they say, they would not be asking for monetary help. That shows a contradiction. Emily, you need to find several people with wom you can associate. It is better to have 5 good friends than thousands. I would suggest you look through profiles and send invitations. Sorry I'm a little off subject but you have expressed a most valid need. You might start with the 'buddy' system. Look for others in the same position as you who would love to have a business friendship.

Mary, Panda: I agree and as I have stated before some people I feel are not telling the complete story re: various programs, all I would like is for the people to be honest and not embellish some products or programs do you agree?

Thanks, Bruce  Seaweedman
