This poem was written and given to a dear friend who also buried her husband this weekend and I hope it is appropriate for Gracie. Please pass it on to her and tell her she has my permission to copy it!

In Memory

 

 

I was sure I felt his touch today, in the wind that gently passed by.

And that was when I heard an angel say, "His spirit will never die."

 

I thought I saw his face today, in a beam of the morning sun.

And then I heard the angel say, "His work on earth is done."

 

I know I heard his voice today, then laugh his gentle laugh.

And then I heard the angel say, "He has taking Heavens path."

 

I dreamt I saw a broken heart, in the crescent of the moon.

And then I heard the angel say, "The Lord will be coming soon."

 

I thought that he had left us, for the stars so far above.

And then I heard the angel say, "He left us with his love."

 

I thought we would all miss you so, and never find our way.

And then I heard the angel say, "He will be with you every day."

 

"The stars, the moon and Heaven above, will forever be around,

reminding us of the love he shared, and the peace he has finally found."

Hello Linda,

Thank you very much for letting the Community know this sad news. I know that Gracie is going through a very bad time right now, but if we all give her our support and prayers it will help her to get through this time of sorrow.

Gracie, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this sorrowful time. May God lay His healing hands upon you and take the pain and sorrow from you, and help you to remember the good times together. May God fill you with peace and comfort you.

Here is a prayer for you;

Eternal God, You made the union of man and woman a sign of the bond between You and the Church. Grant mercy and peace to Gracie's husband, who was united in love with her. May the care and devotion of his life on earth find a lasting reward in heaven. Look compassionately on his children and wife, as they now  turn to Your mercy and love. Strengthen their faith and lighten their loss. Amen.
