I asked My Dad What He is Thankful For...
11/18/2006 9:09:35 PM

Hi My Friends, today I asked my Dad what he is thankful for and this is what he said:

-----------------

1. Christ's sacrifice on Calvary providing hope
for eternal life coming from His Word.
2. Victory over temptation.
3. Religion that is not a dull habit, but an
    exciting adventure.
4. The opportunity to witness and tell others of
    the gospel message.
5. Food, clothing, and shelter.
6. Christian parents and a Christian Education.
7. A mind that can think and understand and receive
    new ideas.
8. Challenging fun that comes from doing things
    with christian brothers and sisters.
9. The Word of God with its precious promises and the
Spirit of Prophecy with it's counsel and guidance.
10. Parents, teachers, and loyal friends.
11. Growing a garden, planting trees or flowers; the
fun of picking an orange off the tree in the back
yard, or an apple, or pulling a carrot from the
     ground.
12. Laughter, smiles, and surprises.
13. The sound of wind whistling thru pine trees and of
water as it tumbles along in a bubbling brook or
a cascading waterfall full of mist and spray.
14. The smell of baking bread, roasting peanuts, a
fresh rain, or a freshly mowed lawn.
15. Eyes that can see a glowing sunset, or twinkling
stars, or the mountains on a full moon at night.
16. Memories of happy things like the touch of a
      friend's hand.
17. To hear the sound of waves crashing on the beach,
the croak of a frog, the chirp of a cricket, a
crackling fire, the roar of thunder, or the thrill
of a bugle call at sunrise.
18, Trips to different places at home or abroad and
the happy memories associated with them.
19. The ministry of our guardian angels.
20. Answered prayers.
21. Sound sleep.
22. Good books and what we learn from them.
23. Unconditional love from our pets.
24. Natural wonder of birds, fish, clouds, rain,
      sunshine and warmth.
25. Beauty of a first snow.
26. The aroma of Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
27. A loved one waiting for you when you get off the
      plane from a long flight.
28. A symphony orchestra in perfect harmony.
29. The fragrance of orange blossoms.
30. Phenomenon of geese flying in formation.
31. Deep sounds of a pipe organ penetrating your
      soul.
32. The smell of new shoes or a purse.
33. Driving a new car or motorcycle.
34. A graduation ceremony.
35. The words "I love you" in a phone call.
35. The smell of a fresh rose.
36. The smell of corn bread baking in the oven.
37. A hug or embrace of a loved one.
38. A deer leaping across the road in front of you.
39. A glass of water when you are thirsty.
40. 55 years of marriage to a wonderful wife.

HI James,

I would have to agree with Pauline the thing  first and most important to me is the Gift of my salvation though Jesus Christ .. You dad is wise to be thankful for even the smallest thing in life. He must be a wonderful Dad and man of G-d..

I am sure you are thankful for having him as a Dad.

Blessings,

Geketa

P.S. I am thankful to have you as my friend!!

Jim,

Wonderful.

Like your Dad, my list would go on and on because Gods generosity knows no bounds.

I would like to add...

Pain free surgery

The example of great people......

I dare not start because I would be here too long, but,

I did notice that your father did mention memory but had obviously forgotten to mention his cheeky looking son who knows how to ask the right questions?

Perhaps he hadn't

Roger
