	Jan Brueghel the Elder was the son of Pieter Brueghel the Elder, the head of the Brueghel family of great Flemish painters in the sixteen - seventeenth centuries, and a great artist himself, who, like his greatly endowed son featured in this thread, was the creator of magnificent and colorful landscape paintings too - in fact, I hope to feature him and his works soon in this very same forum as well. Let me please show here and now my three best favorites among these. Pieter Brueghel the Elder - Landscape with the Fall of Icarus (oil on canvas mounted on wood, c. 1558) Pieter Brueghel the Elder - The Tower of Babel (oil on oak panel, 1563) Pieter Brueghel the Elder - Hunters in the Snow (Winter) (oil on panel, 1565)

	I have not been able to unveil the date of this awesome master work by Jan Brueghel the Elder, but there is at least certainty as to its title: Coastal Landscape with the Tomb of Scipion. Jan Brueghel the Elder - Coastal Landscape with the Tomb of Scipion (oil on panel)
