Who’s On First?

By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/13/12

Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt

love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and

with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. (KJV)

When God takes something away

That we thought would surely stay.

Is our love for God the same?

Is it hard to praise His name?

Do we blame God for His choice?

Has our blessings lost their voice?

The thing God took may have been good.

Was our priority as it should?

Sometimes it’s hard to understand

The purpose that our God has planned.

Perhaps the thing the Father took

Had kept us from His house or book.

Anything that we love first,

If not God, it will be cursed.

The thing itself may not be sin

But was it put ahead of Him?

God will not be in second place

And help us then to win life’s race.

He must be first within our heart

Or His blessings will depart.

NOTHING GREATER

By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/13/12

John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this,

that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (KJV)

No greater GIFT did God e’er give

Than His dear Son on earth to live.

God with us - Emanuel,

The shepherd heard the angels tell.

No greater LOVE did God e’er show

Than His dear Son that we may know.

No other way could God be known

Than through the Son, the Father shown.

No greater HOPE was ever given

Than new life with God in heaven.

The hope of Christ’s return to earth

To take all home who’ve had new birth.

No greater BOOK did any write

Than God’s Word that gives men light.

The light that makes our pathway clear.

His promise that we may draw near.

No greater SACRIFICE e’er made

Than redemption that Christ paid.

His shed blood on Calvary;

The only price that sets us free.

No greater DEBT could we incur

Than the one that Christ made pure.

Only Christ could pay that debt.

For He alone, God’s law has kept.

No greater SIN upon one’s soul,

Than not to let Christ make them whole.

The debt of sin our Savior paid,

When all our sins on Him were laid.

Wait On the Lord

By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/1/12

Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he

shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (KJV)

If fellowship with God is what you long to find,

Do not run ahead nor should you lag behind.

God will direct our path when walking by His side.

He’s promised in His Word to always be our guide.

We’re to wait upon the Lord for He knows the way ahead.

If we’re walking close to Him, then we’ll be safely led.

Some times the path is dark and shadows fill the way.

Then draw even nearer so you’ll not go astray.

Not every path is sunny; there’ll be those quite drear.

When walking by His side we’ll know He’s led us there.

It’s comforting to know, we need never walk alone.

At the end of our journey we’ll see Christ upon His throne.

So wait upon the Lord and walk in sweet accord.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Ps. 37:23

Do not run ahead nor should you lag behind,

If fellowship with God is what you long to find.

The Hope of Heaven

By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/3/12

I Peter 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (KJV)

I’ve a home prepared in heaven that’s not made by human hand.

If by men I would be fearful that in time it would not stand.

But by God it is created and I know that it is sure.

Jesus Christ himself has promised that it ever will endure. John 14

Do you have the blessed assurance He’s prepared a home for you?

If not sure then let me tell you what the Bible says is true.

By faith alone you must believe, for it’s our faith that pleases God.

For by faith all things tomorrow, we believe as truth or fraud.

We are loved by God the Father and by Jesus Christ God’s Son.

Christ was given to redeem us and o’er sin the vict’ry won.

By Jesus’ death upon the cross, there His blood was shed for men.

The only sacrifice accepted to redeem us from our sin.

Christ arose from out the tomb, showing proof that He did live.

And by faith in His atonement, eternal life to us would give.

Do you have this full assurance that by faith you’re born again?

Turn to Christ in faith believing, He will cleanse you from all sin.

I John 1:7-9 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (KJV)

How Do I Thank Thee?

By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/4/12

Psalm 68:19 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with

benefits, even the God of our salvation.” (KJV)

How do I thank thee for thy grace that looked on me?

For the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary,

For thy mercies new each morning toward the penalty of sin,

For adoption as thy child whereby I’m welcomed in?

You remember that I’m weak as my feet are made of clay.

How thy judgments must be tempered for I’m prone to go astray.

For the love of God that sought me, like a lamb lost from the fold.

For thy grace and mercy and so much more left untold.

Thank you for the pardon of my sins when they’re confessed, (I John 1:9)

Thy provisions given daily and by them I’m daily blessed,

The throne of grace that welcomes when I come to thee in prayer,

The peace of heart it brings me when I cast on thee my care.

How can my praises end for all that thou hast done?

For forgiveness of my sin and the vict’ry thou hast won.

Without a voice to praise thee I would burst at every seam.

Throughout eternal ages thy love shall be my theme.
