Cain Just Was Not Able

By Rev. Dean Beaty 3/6/12

Genesis 4:3&8 “And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought

of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD….And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field,

that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.” (KJV)

When Cain came to worship God, Cain just was not able.

He brought works of his labor like fruit from off his table.

For the cleansing sacrifice of sin God always requires blood.

But there’s no blood in turnips or even a rosebud.

No fruit or grain will ever do if blood is not applied.

When God saw Cain’s fruit offering, He could not let it slide.

No doubt this angered Mr. Cain for sin was at his door.

He thought that killing Abel would even up the score.

A wrong can never be made right with another wrong applied.

When God asked Cain of Abel, sin was increased when he lied.

Even sins that may seem so small will still our life pollute.

Sin has a way of growing strong if not yanked out by the root.

Our works brought for salvation will only be a loss.

Only blood will cleanse our heart; the blood shed on the cross.

Without blood there’s no redemption, no matter how we try. *

If you think it’s otherwise, you’re believing Satan’s lie.

*Hebrews 9:21-22 “Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” (KJV)
