	Pieter van den Broecke " c1633 by HALS Frans (1581/5-1666). Canvas 28"x24" (71.2cm x 61cm). This painting has quality written all over it. The detail is wonderful . Frans HALS most famous painting is the Laughing Cavalier *The Laughing Cavalier* 1624

	This painting by Larkin is stunning. I love these court portraits of the 1600's. The light is always upon the face and details of lace and carpets are wonderful. Larkin is much better known in the UK but these portrait painters deserve more recognition. The likenesses are great, the pose tends to be stiff and formal but that is what was asked for by the sitters Lady Dorothy Cary" c1615 by William Larkin (died 1619) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Larkin This is the Larkin Wikipedia

Turner - The Iveagh Seapiece J910563

KENWOOD HOUSE, THE IVEAGH BEQUEST, London. " The Iveagh Seapiece " by TURNER JMW. Also known as " Coast Scene of Fishermen Hauling a Boat Ashore ". Not to be confused with painting at Southampton called " Fishermen upon a Lee Shore in Squally Weather " also by Turner JMW.

My wife, Angela, really dislikes the later very famous Turner paintings where he was experimenting with light and dark. Even Angela had to admire this painting.

The technique is wonderful.

	Hello Roger I have long been a great admirer of Turner, in particular his watercolor paintings. One of my most cherissed projects is featuring him at my Great Art of the World forum here.
