What Do Retired People Do All Day?

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.
Well, for example, the other day the wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes.

When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.
We went up to him and I said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?'

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.
I called him a dummy.
He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.

So Mary called him an unmentionable.
He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he started writing a third ticket.
This went on for about 20 minutes.
The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, we didn't really care since we came into town by bus.

We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired, it's important at our age.

Nick, That sounds like fun.
I might just have to spend a day at the airport parking.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the Grins.  Actually, it doesn't sound like too bad a way to pass the day.  Might be fun.

Golden Old Age

"How do I know that my youth's all spent?
Well, my get up and go has done got up and went.
But in spite of it all, I'm able to grin
When I recall where my get up has already been.

Old age is golden, so I've heard it said,
But sometimes I wonder, when I get into bed.
My years in a drawer and tea in a cup,
My eyes on the table until I wake up.

The sleep dims my eyes, I say to myself --
'Is there anything else I should lay on the shelf?'
And I am happy to say as I close my door,
My friends are the same, perhaps even more.

When I was young, my slippers were red,
I could kick of my heels right over my head,
When I grew older my slippers were blue,
But still I could dance the whole night through.

Now I am old, my slippers are black.
I walk to the store and puff my way back;
The reason I know my youth is all spent,
My get up and go has done got up and went.

But I really don't mind, when I think with a grin
Of all the grand places my get up has been.
Since I have retired from life's competition,
I busy myself with complete repetition.

I get up each morning, dust off my wits,
Pick up my paper, and read the "Obits,"
If my name is missing, I know I'm not dead.
So I eat a good breakfast, and go back to bed."

Hope Your Weekend's Filled With Laughter & Love,

Phil

I look around, see, then write, what I feel. Here is a "Copyrighted" Sample

           Crying

Cold, wet and miserable, wanting to just die
Curled up in a dark doorway, sheltered from the sky,
Blustery wind has found me, I am so all alone
No where to warmth, a place to cry, no where to go home,
People just ignore me and leave me here to die
Glances flick past me from those passing by,
My bones feel the cold beneath, no feeling in my feet
All day I walked and looked for food now I am to beat,
I look to see a smiling face, but it fades from sight
I cry and moan and twist and turn far into the night,
Slowly comes the rising light and sun begins to shine
Soon the day warmth comes to me awakening my mind,
I rise to go and seek out food and walk again this day
Maybe oh just maybe, some luck will come my way,
A smiling face, a warm caress I turn and happily
I see, I'm found again, my master looks down at me,
My coat is dry and I am warm no longer all alone
My master has taken me to the place that I call home.

A Dog….
