I am a Poet
I am a poet So weakly defined Mostly a hermit Rarely speak my mind
Have not more value Than the words that I write In hopes that my words Please someone inside
I am a poet A fly on the wall Of life as it were Little social at all
But at times I will write A few choice words In hopes that those words Indeed will be heard
I am a poet Someone who cares But rarely shows it At times I don't dare
To reach out my arms For fear of rejection And in so doing Cause my own reflection
I am a poet A bringer of words A singer of songs Bard on paper poured
When I recieve inspiration Within my own mind I share with myself The knowlege I find
I am a poet With no special trait Except to those few Who appreciate
The words on the paper The feeling in the lines The notes of good tidings And bad ones at times
Yes I am a poet Insigificant in truth In my own words I learn Both adult and in youth
Should you find my words pleasing And deep to the heart Perhaps I have touched you Perhaps that's a start
