The Shepherd And His Sheep

Have you seen a shepherd as he guards and guides his sheep?

It is his whole purpose, their security to keep.

If he has a hundred, as he starts out on his way,

Then he must have a hundred, at the end of day.

 

The Savior is our Shepherd.  He calls us by our name.

To bring us safe to heaven, is His final aim.

But there are many lessons to learn along life’s way.

In tenderness He teaches, because we tend to stray.

 

What makes us prone to wander?  Something strange within?

Maybe it’s more sinister, like plain old fashion sin.

The more we know the Shepherd and His tender care,

The closer we stay to Him though fellowship in prayer.

 

If you’ve not found the Shepherd to be this caring one,

Then your walk with Jesus has really not begun.

The closer you walk with Him, the more you’ll know His care.

The burden on your shoulders, He will help you bare.

 

I Peter 5:7  “Casting all your upon Him; for He careth for you.”

God’s Omnipotence

Omnipotence speaks of power and that in one degree.

It is the mighty power of God, its extent, infinity.

There is no limit to its depths.  No boundary to its scope.

To put the universe in space, our God just merely spoke.

 

“With God nothing’s impossible” that man can conceive of.

He proved it with His wondrous gift, that of almighty love.

The sacrifice of God’s own Son would take omnipotence.

It shows the passion from God’s heart.  His actions were immense.

 

To send God’s only Son to die, I cannot contemplate,

And then to suffer at the hands of those He did create.

God then forgave them of their sin and laid on them no blame,

And gave to them eternal life, by calling on His name.

 

Omnipotence is more than strength to create the universe.

It’s shown in mercy, love, and grace, our condition to reverse.

Have you received this gift of love and trusted in God’s grace?

Believing in Christ’s sacrifice, you’ll see Him face to face.

GOD,  THE  JUDGE

Genesis 18:25 By  Rev. Dean Beaty  3/9/03

 

Such comfort I find at the end of life’s fight.

That the Judge of the earth will always do right.

Being faithful to me from beginning to end.

“Closer than a brother.” He is a true friend.

 

The whole of life’s picture I cannot always see.

But I rest in the truth that He sees it for me.

I trust in His wisdom and in His great might.

And I trust that the Judge of all the earth will do right.

 

I may be in need at the end of this life.

But my home is with God where there enters no strife.

I may be poor now but my future is bright.

For I know that the Judge of all the earth will do right.

 

He has promised forgiveness by faith in His Son.

So I know that the battle for sin has been won.

I have peace in my soul as the end is in sight.

For I know that the Judge of all the earth will do right.

 

He comes to your heart and He asks to come in.

He wants to forgive you and cleanse you from sin.

He knocks at your door.  Him, will you invite?

Trusting the Judge of all the earth will do right.

GOD’S OMNIPRESENCE
Psalm 139 by Rev. Dean Beaty 3/18/08

Search me, O God, and know all my heart.
Thou knowest my being in every part.
Nothing is hid from Thy all seeing eye.
Thou compassest my path wherever it lie.

Thou knowest the words that spring from my tongue.
Inside and out, however far flung.
If my bed were in hell, Thou would be there.
Or ascend into heaven, I’m still in Thy care.

If I were to dwell in the depths of the sea,
Or the wings of the morning, there wilt Thou be.
If I should say, “The darkness will hide.”
Surely Thy presence is there by my side.

Darkness and light are the same unto Thee.
Wherever I go, Lord, Thou wilt see me.
There is no place beyond Thy scope.
Therefore in Thee do I always have hope.

GOD’S OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

When e’er I think of God’s great plan,
And how God deals with mortal man.
Why should God ever think of me,
Or take the time to hear my plea?

There’s surely more important things.
Like peace on earth and reigning kings,
To take the time to hear my plea.
So why should God e’er think of me?

When we pray “Dear Heavenly Father,”
It shows, with God, that we’re no bother.
To God, we are a love sought son.
To God, in prayer, we’re number one.

Though with creation He’s occupied,
He’s always heard me when I cried.
How do I know God hears my plea?
Just look again at Calvary.
