Job Search Story
8/15/2005 3:24:19 PM
And so it goes ........ Sad but true Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffee pot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking coffee, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN THAILAND) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) and continued his search for a good paying CANADIAN /U.S. JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day, Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in CANADA/U.S. !!!

Hi Sheri, The world ain't what it used to be. But then, it ain't what it's going to be either. It is what it is, and that's all (OK, I stole that last part from a song by Steve Forbert). In my humble opinion, the "global economy" is a new factor in most everyone's life. And it is (historically speaking) a new phenomenon that is in a growing stage. The growing pains are felt by many. I am certainly no expert (on anything, really), but I think that it could turn out to be a good thing, overall. [BIG GRIN - I MEAN REALLY BIIIIGG GRIN] - Joe could always get a job selling eCookBooks online; why, look at me - I've made twenty bucks this year. ;-) Bill Dugan
