The name Bird Tribes comes from the Native American tradition. In one sense you could say that the Bird Tribes are spirit beings, non-physical intelligences, thunder birds, 'angels' or 'devas', if you like.

In another sense you could say that Bird Tribes are anyone who has not lost touch with reality, and still remembers that we are all children of the one great spirit, and does not believe in the illusion of separation.

The name is also a reference to the wings of the DNA that unfold when a human being accesses the power of Love which is dormant within most people in our society.

In particular the BirdTribes' legends come to us through the book 'Return of the Bird Tribes' written by Ken Carey in about 1990. There is also a link between the BirdTribes and the Native American legends of the Rainbow Tribes.
