Good morning everybody I hope you have slept well. This morning started off with beautiful sunshine, which has been quite rare lately. Much rain has fallen. Let us also bask in the sunshine of Biblical prophesy.
First I will tell you that Bahaullah, the Founder of the Bahai Faith, proclaimed His station as the Manifestationof God in Baghdad in 1863. This He did immediately before His further banishment to the Turkish territory,at that time a wide empire. He had been banished to Iraq for ten years and before leaving it He summoned His followers and His family to a garden which He named Ridvan in the outskirts of the city. In the meantime the caravan was furnished for the departure.
Here in this Ridvan-garden He proclaimed what many of His followers already had sensed, that He was the "Him Whom God Shall Make Manifest", the Promised One, that the Bab had prophesied to come, during nine years until He was tragically murdered. In that garden there wasconsequently much rejoicing and praising of God, giving Him thanks, leaving no sleep for His friends and followers. It was a time of spiritual extacy and heavenly blessings. Souls were soaring with joy and supreme gladness at this news. Every morning the friends and the caretakers of the garden had heaped several hundreds of roses outside the opening of Bahaullahs tent.
And this was foreseen by not only His followers but also by the old Biblical prophesies, by Daniel, just like it had been foreseen that the Bab, the Forerunner of Bahaullah, was to appear in 1844. Concerning the 1844 read James Wright's report. This I'll also write about.
So let us see how the Bible reads upon this subject, the declaration of Bahaullah in 1863.
Abdu'l-Baha: "...let us now explain the date of the manifestation of Bahaullah in the Bible. The date of Bahaullah is calculated according to lunar years from the mission and the Hejira of Muhammed; for in the religion of Muhammad the lunar year is in use, ... In Daniel, chapter 12 verse 6, it is said: 'And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever, that it shall be for a time, times and a half; and that when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.' ..... (about)the signification of one day.. we will say briefly that each day of the Father counts as a year, and in each year there are twelve months. Thus three years and a half make forty-two months, and forty-two months are twelve hundred and sixty days. The Bab, the precursor of Bahaullah, appeared in the year 1260 =(1844) from the Hejira of Muhammad, by the reckoning of Islam. Afterwards, in verse 11, it is said:'And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolation be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five-and-thirty days!' The beginning of this lunar reckoning is from the day of the proclamation of the prophet Muhammad in the country of Hijaz; and that was three years after his mission; because in the beginning the prophethood of Muhammad was kept secret, and no one knew it save Khadija and (Khadijas cousin)1. After three years it was announced. And Bahaullah in the year 1290 from the proclamation of the mission of Muhammad caused his manifestation to be known.2'
'1. Ibn Naufal 2The year 1290 from the proclamation of the mission of Muhammad was the year 1280 of the Hejira, or 1863-1864 or our era. It was at this epoch (April 1863) that Bahaullah, on leaving Baghdad for Constantinople, declared to those who surrounded Him that He was the Manifestation announced by the Bab. It is this declaration which the Bahais celebrate by the Feast of Ridvan ...(the garden) where Bahaullah stayed during twelve days...'"
I now have the Bible right here and I can see that this prophesy concerns "the end of time". You can study the whole chapter and see it telling about the awakening of the people, people will be saved and gain "eternal life", and that other good things will take place. It also says, (and now I translate from Swedish)" "But thou Daniel, shall hide these words and seal this script until the time of the end; many will examine it, and thus insight shall increase." 4th verse In verse 13 it is said:"Go unto the end of time, and when you have rested, you shall arise...at the time of the end."
Now, fetch the Bible and see the English version, so that you may be confirmed.
I hope that you, who mostly have a Christian back ground are not reluctant to consider some little of Islamic information, that you are not hindred to see thateven the Bible actually contains information about other religions. I am thinking of the lunar calender. But I have given the western dates. After all the Bible already contains several religions. And it was the three wise men of the Zoroastrian religion who had understood that they were to follow the star to Bethlehem, to find Jesus newly born.It is interesting to note that followers of other religions are first to recognise the fulfilling of prophesies of the religion that the Prophets arise from. Not the followers of the religion in the midst of which the new Messenger arises, nay, rather they kill him, or torment, imprisons or banish these Messengers like in the case of the Christ, the Bab Bahaullah and also Muhammad. There is also the story of Abrahams banishment and many others.
So I hope you'll be as fashinated as I am at the opening of the seals of the old scriptures. Who else but the returned Holy Spirit in a new Messenger sent from God could possible help you understand the prophesies. Is there any doubt that this is "the time of the end" when seals are to be lifted.
Be happy, just be happy at this Greetings from Laila
