Happy Holidays from a new Adlander
12/23/2007 12:22:38 PM

Hello Adlanders,

The big day is almost here and in our household,
the final, frantic preparations are beginning as
we countdown towards the arrival of the fat man
in the redsuit. The family is driving me nuts,
but that's okay. I understand, as a young female
member once told me, that's THEIR JOB!

And the truth is, I'm just as excited as they are.

Christmas is about many things but for me the most
important is the opportunity to see, or make contact
with, those I keep in my heart, my family and friends.
It's about sharing love and laughter, and reminding
ourselves that even in the worst of times, we are not
alone. There are a whole bunch of people who care.
And that for me is the definition of family and friends.

My favorite room is the dining room and the table that
sits there. That table has been the focal point of a
lot of bonding and the love and laughter I mentioned
above. (The food's not bad either.) Each year as I
get older, and the family and circle of friends gets
larger, that table seems to get smaller, and I wouldn't
have it any other way.

I've made hundreds of new friends this year, from all
around the globe and from many different cultures, and
many don't celebrate Christmas, and that's okay, too.
I've enjoyed learning about their culture, their holidays,
and about them. It's been a fascinating journey, one I'm
grateful I didn't miss.

Though we can't include all of you at our table, (the fire
marshal has limits and can't be bought) we do include you at
the table in our hearts, our thoughts and prayers.

So from my family to yours, our holiday wish that Your table
be full, that Your days be filled with love and laughter,
and may you enjoy peace, prosperity and joy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We send you Love.
