What's So Special About New Years?

What’s so special about New Year’s Day

In just a few hours it passes away.

I know it symbolizes a fresh clean start.

But that’s no good without a new heart.

Each day with the Lord is new and alive

That’s a new start three - sixty-five.

That way your life is fresh and clear

And not just one day out of the year.

God says, “His mercies are new every day.”

And that His presence will not pass away.

Each day with the Lord we can start anew,

So one day a year is just too few.

WHERE  IS  YOUR  CONFIDENCE?

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence,

 And shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Proverbs 3:26

We are coming to a brand new year.

Will the unknown cause our hearts to fear?

We will trust in God’s omnipotence.

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”

We’ll be treading paths not walked before.

There’ll be questions rise up by the score.

We will lean on His omniscience.

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”

Will we fear when we are all alone?

Will it cause our hearts to turn to stone?

He has promised His omnipresence.

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”

Will our faith grow stronger by the day?

Will our feet be iron or turn to clay?

We will worship Him in reverence.

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”

When we put our hands unto the plow,

With determination we will vow.

And be faithful without negligence.

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”

Praise the Lord for His Holy Excellence.

Follow Him in loyal obedience.

When we fail, come to Him in penitence.

“For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”
