The journey to Constantinople
was like a triumf, among other things due to the letter that was addressed to the escort by the governor of Baghdad and who was friendly towards Bahaullah. In every town and village along the road He and the friends who accompanied Him in the caravan were honoured.. He was a banished prisoner but still, according to unanimous witnesses, nobody could remember that any of the many governors and high potentates, who used to travel along this route between Baghdad and the city of Turkey had been so enthusiastically received and so heartily cheered by the people as was Bahaullah.
After a four months stay in Constantinople, where the Persian ambassador did everything to pester Bahaullah and the believers, they were sent further to Adrianople(Edirne) by the order of the sultan, where they arrived in december 1863, The journey was very cold, and lasted 12 days. The Prophet of the Global Era now openly proclaimed that He was the One whom Bab had foretold and Whom the old religions had prophesied. In a letter to the shah Nasirid-Din Bahaullah wrote: "O King! I was but a man like others, when lo, the breezes of the All-Glorious were wafted over Me , and taught Me the knowledge of all that hath been. This thing is not from Me, but from One Who is Almighty and All-Knowing. And He bade Me lift up My voice between earth and
heaven, and for this there befell Me what hath caused the tears of
every man of understanding to flow." In the year 1868 Bahaullah and His company of friends were banished for the third time and now to the disreputable prison city of Akka (Acre) in the Holy Land, which at this period was a Turkish province. They went by boat from Gallipoli via the harbours of Smyrna (Izmir), Alexandria, Port Said and Jaffa. On the 31 of August 1868 they landed in chains at Haifa at the foot of the Mount Carmel and thereby the prophesies of both the Bible and the Qouran were fulfilled. In the geography of faith Carmel is an important mountain. Akká, the old town in Israel at the coast of the Mediterrenean Sea is told of in the Bible as the Port of Hope in the latter days. (Hosea 2:15)
During all these years of ordeals and material misery Bahaullah wrote a row of Books and Epistles which make the world of today astonished and hopeful. Already in Adrianople (Edirne) He bean to write His famous and very important "Letters to the Kings and Rulers of the world", in which He stresses the principle of justice and draws up the outline of a plan that would make possible the worlds collective security and welfare. He warned them of terrible wars and bloody upheavals to come, if His plan was not heeded, a plan that would assert all people their rightful unity. Among the rulers who got these letters were: The sha of Persia, Nasirid-Din The sultan of Turkey, Abdu'l-Aziz The Tsar of Russia, Alexander II The Kaiser of Austria, Franz Joseph The Kaiser of France, Napoleon III The Kaiser of Germany, Wilhelm I The queen of Great Britain, Victoria The president of USA The Pope in the Vatican, PIUS IX and so forth. All but one of all the leaders and rulers of the world, both secular and non-secular did not heed the warnings sent by Bahaullah, and...we know through history what befell them. The queen Victoria said upon reading the Letter from Bahaullah: "If this is from God, it is good, and if it is not , it will do no harm." When, later, Bahaullah was informed of her abolishing slavery, He wrote again to her, praising and blessing her, for so doing, and promised her that she would reign for a very long time. And this she did, for 60 years. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bahaullah+and+the+bahai+faith&search=Search
