hello Trudy...when you want to put a link on a message you need to type the name of the link ...then highlight the link and go to the menu bar above and look for the little icon with green ball and chain...when you select that the link icon...you will get a prompt box to enter the link location and then select enter.

I will give you an example as to what a link will look like
