She has counciled many woman including myself over the years. If you ever needed someone to help you focus your attention back on the Lord, Gerry always is there for you!!! Dear Cheryl,
Just wanted to let you know that Taylor was placed in ICU yesterday morning and put on oxygen last night. They are giving her Vitamin A to help with her clotting factor. Her stomach is so badly distended, she looks like one of the hungry children of Ethiopia. The liver is just not functioning, and fluid continues to collect in her abdomen. They began giving her mega doses of steroids, yesterday evening, hoping to jumpstart the liver. However, she had a negative reaction to the lasix (diuretic) that they were giving to try to help her pass the fluid. So, they are having to try the steroids in bigger dosages, right now. The liver specialist said, today, that he hopes this works. If not, he says there is one more medication to try, as well as a couple of "major" procedures. My concern, of course, is his thought that the ultimate correction might be a liver transplant. Our prayer is that God would touch her, as Jehovah Rapha, and resolve any thought that she might need a transplant. She is a very sick little girl. As I left the ICU unit last night, I asked her if there was anything Grammy could do for her or get her. She just looked up and said, "A new body, Grammy. This one is really hurting." All I could do was lay my hands on her little head and begin to pray. Tomorrow, I will be driving Taylor’s sister to school in the morning and picking her up tomorrow afternoon. Our son is hesitant to leave the hospital, though, obviously, he knows his employer may be losing patience. I said all of that just to ask that y'all pray with me not only about Taylor's health, but also that God will use this as a time to draw our son and his wife closer to Him, as well as to each other. I cannot tell you how much knowing that your church family is praying for us encourages our hearts. We love you, your family, and the church family so much...
Blessings, Gerry

Hello! I am sending this e-mail to everyone I can think of that I have e-mail for, that I know will pray for this little girl, that may know Gerry or her son. Taylor is very ill. I ham sending e-mail updates to all of you ladies who participate in the Bible Study that Gerry teaches at our church. Taylor is in ICU. I received another urgent e-mail from Gerry during the middle of the night. They cannot make a diagnosis on her. They only know that her liver is shutting down. This is from Gerry...."Taylor's liver is failing, dramatically. If there is no marked improvement by this time tomorrow morning, they put Taylor on the liver transplant list and must begin the process of purifying her blood, building it up, etc., in order to place her on the liver transplant list. The liver seems to be damaged beyond repair. Please pray with us that God's hand would touch and perform that miracle of healing." Please, please pray for God to touch Taylor's liver and heal her completely. Please take a moment to ask God to intervene on her behalf. We all lead such busy lives, especially this time of the year, but Taylor's life is in jeopardy and Gerry has done so much for all of us! Let's do all we can to intercede on this family's behalf. We have a Great High Priest waiting to listen - Let's go boldly to the throne of Grace and ask for mercy for Taylor!
