CAROLYN  CLAY  AT  38
BY   HER  DAD & MOM   12/2/2007

One time her name was Carolyn Beaty.
I hope she likes that more than Sadie.
Beaty is only missing one “U”
But she changed it to slippery goo,

That’s not to say that Clay’s not nice
Some think that Clay’s as” nice as rice.”
That’s old hat by now you know.
For now she has two kids in tow.

Raising kids and teaching school,
That goes to show that she’s no fool.
She keeps her house neat as a pin,
And does it with a sparkling grin.

The only problem to bring chagrin,
We only see her now and then.
But when we do it brings such joy,
We go to eat Chinese chop soy.

We miss you so that we could cry.
And envy Laura who lives near by.
When you get tired of being cold,
Just move down south before you’re old.

MICHELLE AT FORTY-ONE
By Rev. Dean E. Beaty 11/5/07

Where’s the little girls I knew so long ago?
She has kids of her own, and watches them all grow.
How very soon they’ll be, the same as she is now.
Then she will wonder too, just where and when and how?

Once a little one who needed so much help.
Now all day and night in charge of her own whelp.
How soon they all grow up before your very eyes.
Then, forever gone, those strong parental ties.

Seasons come and go, like winter with its snow.
Some things last a life while others come and go.
Kids are meant to change with love and prayers and tears.
Trust them to God’s hands. He’ll calm your doubts and fears.

What will last forever? The constant love you’ve sow!
You reap it all again, when finally they’re grown.
They’re not so far away when they are in your heart.
Thus hidden safely there, they never will depart.

MY  SWEETHEART  AT  SIXTY-TWO

From  your sweetheart   Dean  Beaty   11/24/07

Oh how much you have grown up.

You’re no longer like a spring pup.

Like the girl of just eighteen,

That became my bridal queen.

But I guess this fact is true.

Look at me, it’s not you.

But when you’re lying next to me,

That eighteen year old is what I see.

As I wander through the years

It brings both love and joy and tears.

It could have never have been that way

If not for our own August day.

There you changed your name to mine,

And our lives have been divine.

Oh, there’s been a bumpy road,

And now you bare a double load.

This could make some want to quit,

But my gal has a lot of grit.

Stamina, strength, and beauty too,

No wonder I’m so pleased with you.

Now there is just one thing more.

Just as easy as shutting a door.

It doesn’t take much skill or might.

Would you please turn off the light!
